A model story
A shopping story has four parts. Two sentences each.

| Вчера́ я ходи́л по магази́нам. | Yesterday I went shopping. |
| Мне нужна́ была́ тёплая ку́ртка. | I needed a warm jacket. |
| Я приме́рил три ку́ртки: одна́ была́ мне мала́. | I tried on three jackets: one was too small for me. |
| Се́рая была́ деше́вле, но чёрная тепле́е и удо́бнее. | The grey one was cheaper, but the black one was warmer and more comfortable. |
| Я взял чёрную: э́то са́мая лу́чшая ку́ртка! | I took the black one: it's the very best jacket! |
| Пото́м на ры́нке я купи́л килогра́мм я́блок. | Then at the market I bought a kilo of apples. |
| А вы? Что вы купи́ли на э́той неде́ле? | And you? What did you buy this week? |
